| Unbinned hair not working properly |
[07 Dec 2009|09:48am] |
I hope this is a stupid question with an easy fix. I'm having trouble un-binning custom hairs (pinks wrongly binned as red, etc). Everything shows up in Bodyshop, with varying degrees of usability, but almost none of it appears where it should in CAS. The tealdeer version:
-Hairs binned back to custom are available* everywhere in Bodyshop. In CAS, they only appear in the elder custom bin (if an elder version is available). --*Or rather, they show up, but are unselectable for all ages in BS - clicking one jumps to a random black/grey hair. --When making an elder sim in CAS and choosing one of the hairs, then switching back to any other age group, the hair stays set, but still isn't visible in the non-elder bins.
-Three (of the set I'm working with) DO show as adult hair in CAS. These few are also selectable in BS. I have no idea how I worked this magic. They have family id=hairtone id, but this does not work for all hairs.
-To un-bin hairs, I at first just added some gibberish to the hairtone line (like 9999666b + all the 0s), then I tried using Wardrobe Wrangler's random family ids, and on some I tried recycling their BS-generated family ids as the hairtone. None of this has worked, although all of it keeps the hair visible in BS. I'm using SimPE for all of this.
-Never-binned custom hair (and colour-binned normal hair) works fine in all cases.
I have no idea if this is a new thing since an ep addition or if it's always been a problem, since I don't think I've used a re-custom'd hair on a CAS sim before. I've definitely have had the snap-to-black problem since forever.
Google/various forums and faqs have been no help, as they're about going in the opposite binning direction, and that I can do in my sleep. What can I do to make these hairs actually functional? I've just discovered I CAN export all of these from BS as new projects, strangely enough, but there has got to be a less time-consuming way to do this, right? ...Right?
(And if that wasn't tealdeer enough, one more hair question. Is there any way to make sims' heads not bend down after deleting a hair through CAS?)

How can you do something like this?
I see that it might be two images, with threshold applied to one of them. However, whenever I try threshold it never looks that nice. It always looks scratchy and it's never smooth. Can anyone direct me to a tutorial for this kind of effect?

| Dog grooming |

Can anyone recommend a cage-free dog groomer? I've yet to find an adequate replacement for Mutts-a-Million since they mysteriously vanished. It has to be one which will do scissor cuts on my Aussie. I live in Tampa Heights, so Tampa Heights/Seminole Heights/Ybor/SoHo/downtown/etc area is ideal.

If any of you see or have seen the movie "Up", it's teriffic. I don't want to give any of it away, but a bird is one of the main characters. I watched this movie with my stepkids today and they are 10 and 7. However, the bird's favorite treat? Chocolate. That's how the other characters lure it with them. I'm pretty sure my stepson is old enough to know better but the 7 year old sometimes gets crazy ideas in her head. I still made a point of letting them know that birds cannot have chocolate and that this bird was just special and it was a movie.
Just a heads up to everyone who may have really little ones who may think its OK to pass off some chocolate to the family birds when no one is looking!

Hi everyone, I used to have this "guide to color layers" memmed at my journal. Unfortunately, the journal has been deleted, and I was wondering if anyone saved the entire jpeg image?
( Here is part of the picture )
Or, if anyone has other guides that resemble this, it would be of tremendous help! THANK YOU!!

| does anyone know of a hack i can use to get me in the zone whenever i want |
[05 Dec 2009|05:24pm] |
I've just bought freetime and i discovered a cool thing which I can use in designing my gods and goddesses for the sims 2. When the sims get in the zone, their motives decay really slowly and a really awesome glow surrounds them. I was wondering if I could find a hack that would let me into the zone whenever I want, even when I'm not engaging in an activity.
If not, then do you know of any cool glow effects I can use without changing the skintone because I've used real life celebs as my gods and goddesses.
If you could help me, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks xx
